On 26th of February 2020 Ash Wednesday rights were celebrated at St. Joseph Boy’s Science Secondary School. Archbishop emeritus of Archdiocese of Bangalore India, His Grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras celebrated Holy Eucharist. Rev Frs. Hilary Lobo, Victor Machado, George Crasta, Joseph Rodrigues, John Ross, parish priest of assumption church Bangalore, India and Stany OCD from Morogoro Tanzania were the concelebrants.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Archbishop during the homily mentioned that lent is a period of 40 days of prayer, penance and almsgiving, and he dwelt on the aspects of forgiveness and of building the right relationships. The Catholic community begins observing the annual austerities of Lent at Ash Wednesday. The period averaging 40 days culminates with Easter. Students of St. Joseph conducted the day’s liturgy and performed melodious choir.
