From 19 to 21st January 2020, the journalist ecological organic agricultural training camp was organized at St. Joseph Sustainable Organic Center for Excellence. The training was organized by TOAM, and supported by French embassy. The program began on 19th evening with the inaugural function. Rev. Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza SJS farm director & Mr. Akitanda, TOAM country coordinator were present for the inaugural function. Mr. Austin Makhani coordinated the program.

Tanzania Organic Agriculture movement [TOAM] is the registered NGO and is the organization umbrella that coordinates and promotes the developments of organic farming among farmers, distributers and consumers through networking and information distribution. Total 25 journalists from different print and electronic media houses and 4 students from Don Bosco V.T.C Oyster bay participated in the training program .The theme of this training was ‘transforming Tanzania through organic farming’. Mr. Martin Mhando SJS farm technical officer, Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza farm director, Mr. Prashanth D’Souza SJS farm manager & Mr. Feliciano Pius conducted the various theory and practical sessions for the participants. Training session were classified as:- Conservative agriculture, Farming Gods way [FGW], Soil moisture culture, Gods blanket mulch culture [FGW], Crop rotation, Organic agriculture and hot culture, Fields crops [maize,  beans, soya], Sweet potato and green vegetables, Tree plantation [neem, moringa and lucina], Horticulture [papaya, banana nursery and farming, herbanelo chilly, watermelons, grapes Dragons fruits, strawberry cultivation techniques, Organic fish production and free range chicken, Tilapia and catfish brooding and growing, Fish pond preparation techniques, Free range chicken and chicken house preparation, Rabbits farming and urine collection, Integrated zero wastage farming production of organic manures, liquid fertilizer and bio-pesticides and usage, Honey Bees , worms and maggots , EM [effective microorganism technology and DPKM [deep pit Korean ] no fly no smell piggery and fermented feed production

Journalist promised to promote Organic farming by writing articles in their dailies. SJS Organic farm had a chance to host a historic workshop by providing training program accommodation and other necessities at its premises.
