Family day was celebrated on 8th December at the Parish level and on 29th in every Kigango.  In Kalimani substation it was celebrated on 12th January.  In the Parish level, the day was a combined event of Eucharistic procession, first communion, community wedding and family day.  As a family all gathered together to express their family spirit, working together, and building up devout, Christ centered families.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All the people gathered at the Mission house at 9.00 a.m. for the Adoration.  After half an hour of Adoration, the procession started from Mission House to Kifaru Church.  In the church there was a short adoration and Benediction. At 11.00 a.m. tea and refreshments were served to the people.  At 11.30 the Holy Eucharist started. 28 children were given first communion and one couple got married in the Mass. The sermon was on building up a Eucharistic family, the sharing and breaking by every member to build up a family.  Fr. Longio, Professor from St. Augustine University College Arusha, was the main celebrant and resource person of the day. After the Mass there was a short felicitation to the children who received the first communion and the couple got married. The whole program got over by 3.30 p.m and meal was served for all the people. The RUPERT HOME children presented a short cultural program.
In the substations people themselves arranged the program, the priest in charge celebrated the Holy Eucharist and gave the people the model of the Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph.  People themselves organizing food for all, sharing, caring and cooperating with each other was seen.
