On 31 December 2017, the feast day of Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph, Kifaru parishioners celebrated the Family Day in Kifaru parish in a grand manner. The main of aim of this celebration is to uplift the Sacrament of marriage and to encourage the values of family. The celebration went on for full day.

 

 

 

 

 

The celebration began with Holy Eucharist, which was presided over by Rev Fr James Ijiko, the professor in Chanjale seminary and in his homily, he preached on the family life after example of Holy Family. After the Eucharist, parishioners, sub-station wise entertain the audience with their cultural program. Youth and Women’s associations too gave the cultural program. The main part of the celebration was honoring the couple. Around twenty couple came forward and honored each other by garland.

Sr. Mary Pauthu Ufs, the superior in Kifaru convent for three years is been transferred to another community. Therefore she was felicitated for her great work and support in the Kifaru parish. Later, the children who came for daily Mass, winners of the Bible quiz and highest scorers in catechism exam where given the prize.

Rev Fr Hilary Lobo welcomed the gathering, Mr. Bonaventure Maro, thanked all for the success of the program and Ms. Debora Msofe compeered the program. The whole program concluded with the sumptuous meal.
